Xbox Live is down with a major outage, based on Microsoft’s official Xbox status page and the fact that we are currently unable to log into our Xbox Series X. The online gaming service has been down for over three hours at 7 pm EST.
“We are aware that users may not be able to log into Xbox Live at this time,” he said. Xbox support through his official Twitter account. “Our teams are currently investigating to fix this problem.”

Today’s Xbox Live outage began about three hours ago, according to the timestamp in the tweet and roaring complaints from suddenly offline players. Many recently purchased the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles that are expected to be online.
Microsoft’s status page indicates that Xbox Live is down and affects some basic functionality. In your entire online gaming community, you will not be able to access your account and profile, the Xbox store or your subscription service, and, key, multiplayer games and cloud games. This includes Xbox Game Pass, which has been heavily pushed by Microsoft on this new generation of consoles.
In other words, you can’t do much with Xbox Series X, Series S, or Xbox One when it comes to Xbox Live functionality. “Friends and social activity”, for example, remains intact, so you can join a watch party or delete your friends list from Xbox Live. Exciting for a Thursday night.
