WNBA star Breanna Stewart says she was badually abused as a toddler.
The Seattle Storm ahead describes the abuse in an essay posted Monday on the Gamers’ Tribune web site.
Stewart says she was first molested at a relative’s home in upstate New York when she was 9 by a person who continued the abuse for 2 years.
Stewart says she finally instructed her dad and mom, who known as police. She says the person was arrested and confessed however would not point out what occurred to him.
Her essay is titled “Me Too,” a nod to the social media motion began following abuse allegations in opposition to Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
She says her father instructed her that what occurred to her is just not a “soiled little secret” and that when she was comfy telling her story, it’d save somebody’s life.
Stewart led UConn to 4 nationwide championships, was the No. 1 decide within the 2016 WNBA draft and was the WNBA rookie of the 12 months.
