Winning Number Jackpot Announced for $ 1 Billion Mega Millions – CBS San Francisco

San Francisco (CBS SF / AP) – The $ 1 billion Mega Millions is for Jackpot Graves, which offers a shot at the third largest lottery prize in American history.

The winning numbers in the Mega Millions Friday night drawing were: a mega ball of 4, 26, 42, 50, 60 and 24.

The Mega Millions top prize has been on the rise since September 15, when a winning ticket was sold in Wisconsin.

The California Lottery Twitter account posted on Friday morning that the jackpot had hit the $ 1 billion mark.

With the crowd of people buying last-minute tickets on Friday, the final Mega Millions prize could rise even more. The drawing will be held at 8 pm PST on Friday night.

The prize has grown so large that it has outnumbered digital lottery display signs that could only show a jackpot of up to $ 999 million.

A steady stream of people hoping for a lottery was buying tickets at a gas station in Harikulis on Friday afternoon. Everyone has a dream One person said he would help the Richmond Snoop Dog Youth Football League. Another player named Roja said that she felt lucky on her birthday.

When asked how many tickets he bought, Rosa replied, “Just one.” You only need one to win right?

Lottery spokesman George De La Cruz said that through the zoom he looked forward to a historic night.

“If the jackpot is hit, it will be the third largest in American history,” De La Cruz said.

Two weeks ago, a Mega Millions lottery ticket was purchased at a gas station in Brentwood that cost more than $ 2.3 million, California Lottery officials said.

While an overwhelming Powerball prize of an estimated $ 731.1 million was won by a single lucky ticket purchaser in Maryland earlier this week, Bay Area players still have a chance to cash in with the Mega Millions game.

Winning Powerball tickets were out of date in Allegany County, located in northwest Maryland, but additional details were not immediately available, the Maryland Lottery said in a statement. Just who receives these funds can never be known: In Maryland, the winners have the right to remain anonymous.

The Powerball Jackpot was the fifth-largest American lottery jackpot. The winning numbers for Wednesday night’s powerball drawing were: 40-53-60-68-69 and a powerball of 22.

Both lottery jackpots topped $ 700 million for the first time this week. The biggest prize for either game was a $ 1.58 billion Powerball jackpot won by three people in 2016.

No one had won the jackpot since mid-September, allowing the award to rise steadily for months. Such a long stretch without a winner is rare, but it also represents incredibly small odds of winning – 1 in 292.2 million for Powerball and 1 in 302.5 million for Mega Millions.

Both Mega Millions and Powerballs are played in 45 states as well as Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands.
