EUGENE, Oregon (AP) – Lexus Williams drove to the perfect place to insert the dagger, from the dead center within the Oregon logo.

Williams hit a 3-pointer from the halfcourt in the buzzer to lift Boise State to a 73-70 victory over the Ducks on Friday night and break the Ho-winning streak.

"As soon as I let it go, I thought it was good," Williams said.

Payton Pritchard's driving tray tied the score for Oregon at 70 with 3.2 seconds left before Williams let him fly the center line at Matthew Knight Arena, where the Ducks had won 46 consecutive games.

"The first thing I saw was the clock and I knew I could get to at least half the court," Williams said. a transfer from Valparaiso who played against Oregon and lost on the same floor last season.

"When he left it, I thought it was good," said Boise State coach Leon Rice. "I guess it's an illusion, but he found a way to take it away."

"Sometimes you have to have a bit of luck to break the streak, but you must also be able to have that luck.

Chandler Hutchison led the Broncos (7-1) with 20 points and 10 rebounds, Zach Haney added 17 points and seven rebounds, and Justiniano Jessup scored 15.

Pritchard led the Ducks (5-3) with 28 points, one over his career, and Elijah Brown scored 17.

Oregon saw two of his big men, MiKyle McIntosh and Paul White, wicked in a combined total of 38 minutes, both representing 17 points and six rebounds The State went to the line of shots 25 times, turning 18, into the effort of 10 of 10 of the Ducks.

"We put them on the line too much with really bad fouls and we got second chance points". Oregon coach Dana Altman said: "Quick break points really hurt us. They had zero at halftime and 14 in the second half.

"We did not come back and put together our defense, a couple of those were 3 that put them in motion."

Boise State had a 33-30 edge in rebounding. Keith Smith had five to lead Oregon, without his main rebounder, rookie Troy Brown, due to the concussion protocol.

Brown's absence plus fouling problems left Altman having to rely more on his younger players, and his three freshmen available only four points. The Ducks have seen at least two players in each of their last three games.

"It all comes down to hardness and it all comes down to leadership," Altman said. "We have to get more out of the older kids, we're putting enormous pressure on our freshmen."

The Broncos shot 7 of 11 from the 3-point range in the second half, with Jessup doing 5 of 7. Williams' winning shot broke the last of 14 draws, as none of the teams led by more than eight points.

Williams said he and his teammates were very aware of Oregon's success at home. In the end a bustling post-match celebration began.

"It's a big business," he said, "and that's what we wanted to do."
