Why is a third Seahawk inactive defensive lineman against Ram?

Through the early part of the season, the Seattle Seahawks were constantly looking for depth on the defensive line, as injuries to several key players left the position somewhat bare. Rashim Green, Bruce Irwin, Benson Mayova, Brian Moane and Damontre Moore all missed time with injuries or suspensions, and the need for depth in the trenches on the defensive side became so bad that the Hawks made a haul of position additions.

Those totals included poaching Jonathan Bullard from the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad, signing free agent defensive lineman Damon Snacks Harrison and trading for Carlos Dunlap. Those moves, combined with the return of Green, Mayova, Moane and Moore, have left Seattle with such significant depth in the position group that the Los Angeles Rams have two defensive linemen out of six inactions for the Week 16 show.
