Although Apple held a virtual show on Tuesday (here) Everything Apple announced), Disappointment to those expecting iPhones – event focused on new Apple watch 6, Apple Watch SE And iPads Instead. Announcement date for iphone 12, 12 Pro, 12 Max and possible 12 Pro Max live in the air (Apple hasn’t confirmed the phone’s names, but we’ll go with those for now). However, our best guess is that when Apple announces the phone, it will be on October 13 or October 14.

Before we explain why, note that Apple has not released any official information and has not responded to a request for comment. However, what we do know is that the iPhone is definitely delayed “a few weeks” from its normal time of September. Even before The company confirmed this in July, We knew that the COVID-19 outbreak forces suppliers in China to shut down or operate at limited capacity. This not only affected Apple’s inventory in September, but would also impact sales. Apple also closed its US retail stores, although some have now reopened in a limited way.

Will the iPhone 12 arrive on time?

Because Apple’s iPhone events usually take place in mid-September after Labor Day, the “few weeks” delays push us into the October area. And with today’s press already scheduled, it’s no more likely that Apple will hold two events in the same month.

There are a few reasons why we chose the date as early as mid-October. Japanese financial news outlet Nikkei Asian Review reported that Apple is starting production for its 5G iPhones in mid-September, meaning that products are coming down the pipeline sooner rather than later. Apple also would like to move enough devices for the holiday season and Black Friday. Finally, it is in Apple’s best interest to choose a date where it is less likely to swallow the biggest news. Although no day in 2020 is guaranteed to be a slow news day, the US presidential election will be held on November 3 and the second half of October will actually heat up.

This leaves us with the first two weeks of October and because Apple likes to hold its events on Tuesday or Wednesday, which gives us October 6, 7, 13 and 14. Of these dates, we are partial on October 13 and 14. Ourselves, so who are we going with.

Again this is only our educated guess. Apple has said that nothing yet and a lot of things can change on a dime (hello, have you met 2020?). Let us know in the comments below if you think these dates are probable or if Apple will choose another date entirely.
