WhatsApp Business is a free Android application launched on Thursday in the US. UU., The United Kingdom, Mexico, Italy and Indonesia, with more countries coming soon. WhatsApp did not indicate when or if an iOS version would be available.
The application is for companies to download it: the client side will be integrated into the existing WhatsApp application. Companies have a set of features that make it easy for small businesses to communicate with customers, including the ability to obtain verified business profiles, set up frequent questions, a quick response feature and more. It will also have desktop support.
WhatsApp Business could be a big help in developing countries, where small businesses use more informal platforms, such as WhatsApp, to advertise, get in touch and sell to customers. WhatsApp, pointing to a study conducted by Morning Consult, said that more than 80 percent of small businesses in India and Brazil use the application to help them grow their businesses.
WhatsApp is the second largest messaging application in the world, second only to Facebook Messenger,s at the end of April.
