Weapon unloaded during battle at Accadiana Mall, no injuries


Lafayette police are responding to the Acadiana Mall after reports of shots being fired.

According to the LPD spokesman, C.P.L. Bridgette Dugas, officials responded to news of the fight at the food court at Ambassador Hafari’s Acadiana Mall.

During the incident, a weapon was defused and a bullet was fired. At present, no injuries have been reported.

Lafayette Police insisted that it was an isolated incident, and they are working to locate the individuals involved.

The mall is closed for the remainder of the evening.

Eyewitnesses told KATC that they heard shots, then saw people running away. People were placed behind the shops by mall employees.
