Watch Phoebe Bridgers, Beck and more tribute to Daniel Johnson at the special event

Phoebe Bridgers, Beck and many others have paid tribute to Daniel Johnson at a special event on his death anniversary.

The cultured musician died of a heart attack a year ago yesterday (11 September). He was 58.

Bridgers and Beck were joined by Jeff Tweedie, Maya Hawke and Jesse Harris, Waxahete, Devendra Banhart, The Lemon Tiggs, Kevin Morby, Adam Green and more than a Livestream title Honey I Sure Miss You. Each artist presented their favorite song by the composer ‘True Love Will Find You in the End’ in the previously recorded footage.

The tribute aired last night on Johnson’s YouTube page and the website of the iconic New York recording studio Electric Lady. It also featured a never-before-seen home movie of Johnson shared by his family.

Electric Lady’s managing partner Lee Foster said in a statement: “I am a huge fan of Daniel Johnson’s drawings and music and recognize how adorable he is, especially within the music community.

“If you’re a fan, you’re usually a fanatic, and when I started reaching out to musician and industry friends for video presentations, the answer was almost always an all-cap ‘yes’.” People want to celebrate it. ”

After Johnson’s death in 2019, many musicians began sharing covers of songs in his back catalog. Wilco was among them performing a version of Johnson’s ‘True Love Will Find You in the End’ at a gig in Berlin.
