The Warriors’ playoff push begins in earnest on March 11.
That’s when Golden State will begin the second half of the season, the NBA announced Wednesday, playing the LA Clippers at Staples Center. It’s the first of 36 games the Warriors will play as they try to establish themselves as a Western Conference contender.
Here’s the full Warriors schedule for the second half of the regular season.
The Warriors will meet the Eastern Conference leading Philadelphia 76ers for the first time on March 23 at the Chase Center, after not playing each other for the first half of the regular season. Golden State also did not play the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans, and they will face every possible NBA playoff opponent three times.
Three games each against the Houston Rockets (14 in the Western Conference) and Oklahoma City Thunder (13 in the West), plus two against the Washington Wizards (13 in the Eastern Conference) and a pair against the Atlanta Hawks (11 in the East). ) offer ample opportunities for the Warriors to round out their win-loss record, which could prove vital in the busy Western Conference.
The Warriors will conclude the second half of the regular season on May 16 when they host the Grizzlies. By then, we will surely know if Golden State’s playoff drought has lasted another year.
The NBA entry tournament for the 7-10 seeds will take place May 18-21, with the 2021 playoffs beginning on May 22.
