Among the millions of Warhammer games we have these days, we don’t see much in Age Of Sigmar, the setting that replaced Warhammer Fantasy Battle in 2015. Hey, here comes Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Storm Ground, with a new -date of launch announced on May 27th. It is a tactical turn-based combat about building an army to face other wizards. A new trailer shows a bit of what it looks like.
Storm Ground has three factions: the righteous Stormcast (which are basically the fantasy version of the Space Marines from Warhammer 40k), the ghostly Nighthaunt, and the horn Maggotkin (the boys of the god of chaos Nurgle).
Today’s announcement describes the game’s single-player campaigns as “roguelike,” with new units, abilities, weapons, and equipment awarded from cards obtained in battles. Hey! I knew they had talked about dynamic and non-linear campaigns, but I wasn’t expecting it. However, I am not opposed to racing-based tactical turnfights. It will also have online PvP multiplayer.
Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Storm Ground is coming to Steam on May 27, priced at £ 35 / € 40 / $ 40. It’s got a 15% pre-order discount, but you know you don’t have to pre-order games. It will also be on PS4, Xbone, and Switch. The developers are Gasket Games and the publishers Focus Home Interactive.
In other Focus Home Warhammering news, they recently announced a Necromunda FPS from the creators of Space Hulk: Deathwing and EYE: Divine Cybermancy. Releasing in June, Necromunda: Hired Gun stars a mercenary with a cyber dog and a hook, deep within a 25,000-mile hive city.
