Walt Disney World has updated its face covering policy to include guidelines regarding transparent face masks. Read the updated policy below:
The face coverings may have an integrated transparent plastic panel to aid in viewing the wearer’s mouth. These face coverings should be a fabric face cover consisting of a solid plastic panel with no openings attached to the fabric using tight knit stitching. They should also fulfill all the face covering requirements mentioned for regular face masks.
As face masks have been more widely produced, transparent face masks have grown in popularity, especially for those who are hard of hearing and may need to read lips. Transparent face masks are separated by a plastic face shield, which guests can only wear as long as they are wearing masks.
Walt Disney World also updated its policy to state that anyone who has received the COVID-19 vaccine should still wear a face mask.
