If Xavier Becerra is confirmed by the Senate as Secretary of Health and Human Services, America will have “our version of [WHO Director-General] Tedros [Ghebreyesus]”Hoover Institution senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson told” The Ingraham Angle “on Monday.
“He’s a very effective far-left politician,” Hanson said of Becerra, a former California congressman and current state attorney general. “He has spent the last 40 years as a candidate for office or as an elected or appointed official. He has no experience in the private sector. He knows nothing about health care.”
“It is our version of Tedros, the director of the World Health Organization, the first [director-general] not have MD “
Hanson later noted that Donald Trump’s two HHS secretaries had been more qualified to fill the position than Becerra. Former Georgia representative Tom Price, he noted, was a doctor, and Alex Azar had been an executive at pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly & Co.

Presenter Laura Ingraham also noted that Becerra has been a strong advocate for abortion rights and has asserted that illegal immigration is not really illegal because those who cross the border “have not committed any crime against anyone.”
Hanson added that Biden’s election of Becerra also sounds very similar to Charles Bolden’s election of Barack Obama to become NASA administrator.

Bolden created a firestorm after telling an Al Jazeera interviewer that Obama wanted him, among other goals, “perhaps the foremost … to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historical contributions to science. “
“I am concerned that Mr. Becerra, in times of a pandemic, will say that health care will be defined as immigration, or it will be defined as gun control,” Hanson said, pointing to the ways that Becerra could codify liberal political goals in his paper.
