For the third time in 14 months, a Pence and his family pet died.
On Thursday, second lady Karen Pence announced on Twitter that her cat Pickle died. Pence said the feline had been part of the family for 16 years.
Six months ago, Vice President Pence and his family lost their 13-year-old cat, Oreo . The family moved to Washington DC earlier this year with the two cats, along with a bunny named Marlon Bundo (he's on Instagram) and a snake named Safira.
Two weeks before the presidential election last year, the Pences' dog, Maverick, died. The beagle was adopted from Virginia when he was 2 years old.
Despite losing these pets, the family has added some new furry members of the family in the last year. After losing Oreo, the family brought home two more pets: a kitten named Hazel and a dog named Harley.
"I asked my wife for a motorcycle and I got a puppy, so I called him Harley," said the vice president. He said.
