“We’ve grown from factories, churches, bars and other places in the past,” Cuomo said. “We are quite familiar with it, and when there is a cluster, we are very aggressive on it and we do oversampling in the cluster.”
According to hospital officials, Wisconsin has reported Kovid-19 hospitalization since September 18, with nearly twice as many patients in the state. Illinois governors are tightening restrictions in a part of the state following an increase in positivity rates. And Kentucky, in Gov. The state needed to stop the recent “surge” after Andy Beshear reported more than 1,000 new infections for the second consecutive day.
When a vaccine may be available to the US population
On Wednesday, Modern CEO Stephen Bansell said that if his Kovid-19 vaccine proves to be safe and effective, it may be available to the public by late March or early April.
“I think a late Q1, early Q2 approval is a reasonable timeline for what we know from our vaccines,” Banksall said at a conference hosted by the Financial Times.
But many steps have to be taken before this.
If safety and efficacy data are examined, Bansell says he thinks Modern will be able to file a Biologic License License (BLA) with the US Food and Drug Administration by late January or early February. The application asks the FDA to fully consider the licensing of a drug, while an Emergency Use Authority (EUA) expedites a drug candidate to use on an emergency basis.
Bangkok said at a conference organized by the Financial Times, that modernity can petition the European Union by 25 November for those with high priority.
“I think if we can get 75 to 80% of the population vaccinated, I think it would be a really good achievement,” Fauci said last week.
Mississippi Mask Mask Mandate
Despite officials continuing to advocate the use of masks, Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves announced on Wednesday that he would not expand the state’s facade mandate, saying the state’s average number of new Kovid-19 cases had declined.
“It has been a few weeks for the Kovid-19 numbers,” the governor said. “We cut our average number of new cases in half, we cut the hospitalization by two-thirds of what they once were.”
Since the onset of the epidemic, Mississippi has reported more than 98,000 infections. According to Johns Hopkins data, Mississippi is one of 14 states that are consistently tracking their number of new cases compared to the previous week.
Despite doing away with the masked mandate in Mississippi, the governor urged residents to continue to cover the face, saying it was “smart, prudent and wise.”
“I believe this is the right decision to make at this time,” he said. “I believe this will protect my fellow Mississippi and should give us a chance to see if things continue to improve or not, it gives us more opportunities in the future.”
