UNR cop wears racist costume mocking Colin Kaepernick


The College of Nevada, Reno police providers is taking a knee on the subject of doubtlessly punishing an officer who wore a racist costume mocking Colin Kaepernick.


UNR Police Chief Adam Garcia apologized Sunday after a picture depicting one in all his officers sporting an inappropriate costume mocking Colin Kaepernick circulated on Twitter.


The twin picture reveals a UNR police officer on the fitting and a photograph of what seems to be the identical man wearing a wig, pretend nostril and painted beard on the left. The person can also be sporting a purple shirt with the phrases “49ers” and the quantity “7” taped on, in addition to an indication that reads, “Will stand for meals.”


“For individuals who have seen the Halloween costume of one in all our officers apparently mocking a citizen who has chosen to make the most of his constitutional proper to protest, I supply my honest apologies,” Garcia stated in a press release.

The Twitter consumer who posted the picture referred to the police officer as Antonio Gutierrez — a proven fact that Garcia didn’t affirm nor deny in his badertion.

UNR spokeswoman Kerri Garcia advised the Reno Gazette Journal regardless of the “insensitive” nature of the incident, the officer in query is not going to be punished.

“As insensitive and inappropriate as that is, we have now no coverage that will dictate any disciplinary motion,” Kerri Garcia stated.

Kaepernick, who ignited a media firestorm for beginning the nationwide anthem protest motion as a member of the 49ers final season, graduated from the College of Nevada, Reno in 2010.


The polarizing quarterback was a two-time Western Athletic Convention Offensive Participant of the Yr and threw for 10,098 yards and 82 touchdowns in 4 seasons.


Kaepernick, who’s lively on social media, has not publicly commented on the controversial costume.
