HOUSTON – Twin girls born in 2016 joined in the chest and abdomen have been discharged from Houston hospital more than three months after the separation surgery.
Texas Children's Hospital on Thursday announced the final recovery step for Hope Elizabeth Richards and Anna Grace Richards.
The girls were born on December 29, 2016, at Texas Children's Pavilion for women and were premature, in just over 35 weeks. The separation surgery was performed on January 13.
Hospital officials say that Anna Grace was released on March 2. Hope Elizabeth left the hospital with her family after meeting her twin as the medical staff caring for the young people said goodbye. The sisters join two brothers and their parents, Jill and Michael Richards of North Texas.
