DETROIT – The first UFC event in Michigan since 2010 attracted an informed $ 2 million door.
UFC President Dana White revealed the total at the post-UFC 218 press conference on Saturday night, attended by MMAjunkie.
White said the door was generated by a total attendance of 17,587, representing an average figure of $ 113.72 per ticket issued.
UFC 218 was held on Saturday at the new Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit and was the first UFC event in Michigan since UFC 123 2010. The main card was broadcast live on PPV after the preliminaries in FS1 and UFC Fight Pbad.
In the main event of the evening, UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway (19-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) won a second consecutive victory over former champion Jose Aldo (26-4 MMA, 8- 3 UFC), once again stopped him in the third round.
Meanwhile, the co-star saw heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou (11-1 MMA, 6- 0 UFC) win a title shot with a devastating first round k nockout by Alistair Overeem (43-16 MMA) , 8-5 CFU).
