Type 2 diabetes: the best exercise to prevent high blood sugar level – HIIT

A study conducted by the University Hospital of Aarhus in Denmark found that HIIT can help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by keeping blood glucose levels within a healthy range.

HIIT, which means high-intensity interval training, is a form of interval training that alternates short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods.

Coach Zana Morris revealed the other benefits of doing HIIT.

She told Waitrose & Partners magazine: "The short bursts of High Intensity Training exercise make it easy to place a workout in a busy week, but its benefits do not stop there.

"It's also one of the fastest ways to increase strength and endurance while increasing lean body mass and burning fat.

"In fact, a study conducted by researchers at McMaster University in Canada found that three sessions of 20 minutes of intensive training at intervals per week (working at 85 percent of your maximum heart rate) can provide the same benefits as ten hours of Constant exercise over a period of two weeks.

"High-intensity workouts cause massive muscle fiber disorders, and this increases your metabolic rate from two to 24 hours after exercising.

"This means that your body continues to burn a little more fat even when you rest."

Losing weight, especially if you are overweight, will make it easier for your body to lower your blood sugar level, as well as improve your blood pressure and cholesterol, according to the NHS.

A poor diet can also lead to the development of type 2 diabetes, and while there is nothing you can not eat if you have the condition, the health agency recommends limiting certain foods.

Counsel: "Eat a wide variety of foods that include fruits, vegetables and some starchy foods such as pasta.

"Keep sugar, fat and salt to a minimum.

"Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, do not skip meals."

A recent study showed that the consumption of an egg every day seems to be associated with a blood metabolite profile related to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes.

The study conducted by the University of Eastern Finland found that blood samples from men who ate more eggs included certain lipid molecules that correlated positively with the blood profile of men who remained free of type 2 diabetes.
