Tyler Perry To End Quarantine Bubble In His Atlanta Studio – Deadline

Tyler Perry was one of the first producers to come up with a comprehensive plan to safely restart television production in April 2020, just several weeks after the pandemic-related Hollywood shutdown. He began filming in mid-July, employing a quarantine bubble model, in which the cast and crew are confined to the lot during filming.

This Saturday, April 10, Perry will end the bubble at his Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, a representative of the media mogul confirmed to Deadline. The measure follows a mass vaccination event in the study on Saturday, April 3. Perry, who covered the logistics costs, hired Grady Hospital, whose staff set up the vaccination site in TPS for his entire team and their family and friends who had not yet received a vaccine.

While it’s open to everyone in the study and those close to them, vaccinations weren’t required. More than 250 people were inoculated with the Pfizer vaccine, and Grady Hospital staff will return in a couple of weeks to administer a second dose.

Perry, who was vaccinated in January, recorded a video during the vaccination campaign at TPS, in which he reported that 55% of his team have received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine and encouraged Americans to get vaccinated. (Look the following video).

Since Perry resumed production in July with a quarantine bubble, he has filmed new seasons of multiple series, including those of BET. Sistas and The oval BET + Relentless and Bruh – all of which Perry created, writes and directs – as well as the next All the queen’s men for BET +, which is produced by Tyler Perry Studios.

The bubble held up well. While there were positive cases during registration, there were none once everyone was in the bubble, with no interruptions in any of the sessions.

As the bubble is ending, strict Covid protocols will be maintained during production, following industry safety standards and in line with the procedures of all other studios that are not employing a quarantine bubble.

As Covid restrictions across the country relax amid huge advances in vaccination rates, Perry is increasing production in his study. The plan is to shoot eight seasons of television series and two movies in the first six months of 2021. Additional episodes of All the queen’s men Season 1 is filming now, with season 2 of Relentless Next.
