Two people injured after possible stabbing in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Law enforcement is investigating after two people were injured in a fight Sunday morning.

Around 3:45 a.m., the Cedar Rapids Police Department was sent a report of a person who had been injured in the fight at Westdale Apartments, located at 4107 22nd Avenue SW. Officers located a 34-year-old man with an apparent stab wound to the arm. Emergency first aid care was provided at the scene, before the man was transferred to a local hospital for further treatment. Officials described his injuries as serious.

While conducting an investigation at the scene of the incident, officers located another 23-year-old man with a cut on his hand. He was also taken to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment, and authorities also described his injuries as serious.

No further information was available on a possible suspect. The investigation is currently ongoing.
