Fox News Channel ended the second quarter of 2020 with its largest audience in history when viewers turned to the FNC for information on everything from the current coronavirus pandemic to nationwide protests stemming from the death of George Floyd in police custody. .
Fox News has its most viewed quarter both in total viewers and during the primetime hours of 8 and 11 at night, ending as the most viewed among all the basic cables in both respective measurable. It was the 16th consecutive quarter that Fox News finished at the top of the total day category.

“Tucker Carlson Tonight” and “Hannity” topped the audience record previously set by Sean Hannity last quarter, as both shows averaged more than 4 million viewers in total for the second consecutive quarter, something that no other news show by Cable has successfully accomplished before its historic first quarter.
Fox News dominated primetime, averaging 3.6 million viewers, as MSNBC averaged a pinch of less than 2 million to finish second. CNN, HGTV and TLC joined FNC and MSNBC among the top five primetime networks.
FNC averaged almost 2 million viewers in total, while MSNBC finished second with an average of 1.2 million. CNN, HGTV and Food Network completed the top five in the category.

The network also posted its highest-rated demo since the third quarter of 2005 on a total day, averaging 360,000 viewers for a 61 percent increase year-over-year. In comparison, MSNBC averaged just 193,000 demo viewers.
Fox News Channel also swept the top five most watched shows on cable news, with “Tucker Carlson Tonight” averaging 4.3 million viewers to finish as the No. 1 show on cable news for the first time.
“Hannity” averaged 4.3 million viewers, followed by 3.9 million for “The Five,” 2.7 million for “Special Report with Bret Baier” and 3.6 million for “The Ingraham Angle.” MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” was not in the top five, finishing sixth overall despite being the most popular show on the web.

Overall, Fox News finished with 12 of the top 15 cable news shows and the top six on the key demo, along with 89 of the top 100 cable broadcasts during the second quarter.

FOX & Friends averaged 1.6 million viewers to end as the most-watched morning show on cable news for the 74th consecutive quarter.
FNC also ended June as the most watched network on all television among primetime viewers, as “Hannity” averaged 4.3 million viewers to win the month.
