Trump ruins the decision of the Kentucky Derby to disqualify maximum safety

On Sunday, President Trump blamed the "political correctness" of a controversial decision in the Kentucky Derby that led to the disqualification of the apparent winner in favor of a long shot of 65-1.

"Kentuky Derby's decision was not good, it was a hard and wobbly race on a wet and sloppy track, really, a beautiful thing to see," Trump wrote on Twitter, misspelling the name of the state. "Only in these days of political correctness could such a turnaround occur. The best horse did NOT win the Kentucky Derby, not even close! "

Undefeated Maximum Security crossed the finish line at Churchill Downs on Saturday before Country House and the Honor Code at the 145th Race for the Roses.

But 15 minutes later, following the objection of a rider, Maximum Security was stripped of the title after the commissioners decided that the horse had prevented the War of the Will, giving the victory to Country House.

It was the first disqualification in the 145-year history of the Kentucky Derby.
