CITY OF MEXICO – The incoming administration of Mexico's President-elect, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, says that the government of the United States informed him that President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will accompany to Secretary of State, Michael Pompeo, on a week-long visit. Kushner is also an adviser to the White House.
Pompeo plans to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto and his chancellor, as well as a "courtesy" visit on Friday to López Obrador and his election for Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard.
Lopez Obrador said on Tuesday that since Pompeo will be accompanied by other US officials, he will ask his proposed cabinet to also attend.
He says the meeting is "very good news."
Lopez Obrador won in a landslide on July 1 and will badume December 1.
