Trump charged up at New York fundraiser: ‘We are unbeatable’

President Trump had a spring in his step Saturday after the Senate pbaded the GOP tax cut bill, telling a crowd at a campaign fund-raising event in New York that his re-election campaign was "unbeatable."

The president gave the rosy badessment based on the economic upswing since he took office, which the president believes will be supercharged by tax cuts now headed to the finish line in Congress.

"Right now, unless they have somebody that we do not know about, right now we are unbeatable, we are unbeatable, "Mr Trump told about 400 donors at Cipriani restaurant on 42nd Street in New York. "And one of the reasons, one of the reasons, is what's happening with the markets, what's happening with business, what's happening with jobs?"

He appeared unfazed by former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn's guilty plea Friday to lying to federal agents – a plea Democrats celebrated as evidence the Russia probe was closing in on the president.

Mr. Trump did not mention Mr. Flynn or the Russia probe while reporters were in the room. His cheerleading was all about tax cuts and the economy.

"What we're doing is – if you look at it – we're going to grow the country. We're going to grow jobs. We're going to be growing everything, "Mr. Trump said. "We have companies now that they are pouring back into our country, even before this, we've just set records in so many different ways."

He continued, "If you look at it, consumer confidence at a 17-year high. I think it's an all-time high consumer confidence. Business confidence, all-time high. Everything is like an all-time high, including the big one, it's called the stock market at an all-time high. "
