Top Texans to open 2020 NFL season


The Kansas City Chiefs secured their first win of the season over the Houston Texans on Thursday nights, 34-20.

Patrick Mahomes led with 211 passing yards and three touchdown passes in the game. He was 24 -32 and did not throw any interceptions. He was sacked once.

A 6-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes to Travis Kelsey started 31 unanswered points for Kansas City between the second and fourth quarters. Sammy Watkins and Tyrick Hill will also catch touchdown passes.

Watkins led the Chiefs with seven catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. Kelce had six catches for 50 yards and a touchdown. Hill had 46 and five caches for touchdowns.

With the win, Kansas City improved its long win streak to 10 games. The team has not lost a game since November 10, 2019, when they fell to the Tennessee Titans by three points.

Dehat Watson had a passing and throwing touchdown in a loss. He completed 20-for-32 with 253 passing yards and 77 quick yards. He also threw a block.

Will Fuller V had eight catches for 112 yards. Jordan Akins caught a Watson touchdown pass. He caught two catches for 39 yards.

The game began with the “Star-Spangled Banner” and the main players on the field for the Black National Anthem. Texas was in the locker room.
