Top Exec Has An Update on Pre-orders – EssentiallySports

The wait for any information regarding your favorite console is getting harder by the day and the COVID-19 pandemic is making it even worse. If things were different, we could’ve had a lot more details about the PlayStation 5. But, it’s definitely going to be a long wait before we can do so. Of course, there will be rumors and speculation of all sorts but, ultimately, we will have to wait for the official announcement.

So far, we know that the PS5 has exciting new games lined up for us. Sequels like Spiderman Miles Morales and Horizon: Forbidden West looked absolutely amazing. Even the iconic Ratchet and Clank is making a comeback. But all this is just making the wait even harder because this makes us want to get our hand on the new console sooner.

Early PlayStation 5 price reveal rumors

There was a glimmer of hope when popular industry insider Roberto Serrano provided an update. Apparently, Sony was supposed to reveal the launch date and price on July 13th but that never happened. Now Roberto says that another event is scheduled for August 6th, 2020. Take a look:

Apparently, Sony plans to showcase certain third-party games that will be available for the PS5 and the PS4. We could even get lucky and get to see a new God of War title. But given what happened last time, we wouldn’t be too sure about this. Still, keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Eric Lempel’s address on the pre-orders for PS5

Another bit of news that came from an even more credible source may intrigue you further. Recently, Geoff Keighley hosted a preview that introduced us to the DualSense controller. During that preview, he was joined by Eric Lempel, SVP of Marketing for Sony Interactive Entertainment. When asked about the pre-orders / launch date rumors, he said,

“We had nothing to do with it,”. “I got a message from someone saying people are lining up at stores, and we had no idea why. We’ll let you know when pre-orders will happen. It’s not going to happen with a minute’s notice. We’re going to, at some point, let you know when you can pre-order PlayStation 5. “

So there you have it. Until there is no official announcement regarding the pre-orders, speculation is pointless. Of course, this won’t stop people from constantly looking for more information. But it is better to wait for the announcement from Sony. We’ll keep updating this space as soon as we have some information regarding the pre-orders. So, keep an eye out for further updates.
