Sources told Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer that Tom Brady suffered a sprained collateral ligament in his right thumb, in addition to the cut.
Brady missed practice on Thursday and was limited in practice on Friday after injuring his hand in practice on Wednesday. Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports Brady needed more than 10 points in hand after he initially reported that he only needed four points.
When Brady went out to training camp for the AFC championship game on Sunday he wore no gloves as he had done in previous practices and during the availability of the media this week, but instead had a black belt that was going from the palm of your hand, under the thumb to the back of the hand.
Brady is playing his twelfth AFC Championship and his seventh consecutive. The Patriots have 7-4 in the previous 11 games.
