In the midst of numerous reports of the Patriots' decision to restrict the access of coach Alex Guerrero, quarterback coach Tom Brady and co-founder of the TB12 method, Brady faced a series of questions on Friday about the situation.
Brady seemed to confirm that the Guerrero had his limited access in one breath, but then trained with reporters in the next.
When asked to explain the impact of not having Guerrero on the bench, Brady said: "I do not think about that, I have enough things to think about, so I'm going to try to win an important game and do what I I always do ".
Brady was asked to explain how he reacted when Belichick explained that Guerrero's access was restricted, and Brady became irritated, a little.
"I really do not agree with your question, so I do not know what you're talking about," Brady said. "How do you know what he said?"
So, is the restricted access report false?
"I do not say anything," said Brady. "I mean, how do you say he said something? You do not know anything about that."
So, Belichick told Brady that Guerrero's access was limited?
"Well, I have many conversations with him," said Brady. "Those are private between him and me, and I do not think anyone knows what we're talking about." Certainly, I've never talked about it. "He has never spoken.
Eventually reporters tried it another way, asking if the conversation about Guerrero's situation has affected Brady's relationship with Belichick.
"No, I'm just trying to show up and do the right thing and try to win football games," Brady said. "I let my game talk. I try to go out and prepare myself hard every week and put everything into it. That's where my focus is. It is not much more than that. "
It seems that it is, the status quo has changed drastically, if the multiple reports are true, and neither Belichick nor Brady have said anything to describe the reports as not true."
Brady has said flatly that he wants to end his career with the Patriots, and it's widely believed that Brady would go away only if the Patriots wanted him in. But if Brady's close friend gets upset enough about how he's been treated to try to poison Brady's mind consistently, and if any other team would be willing to embrace Guerrero and his methods if that means a season or three with Brady, well, things could get interesting in 2018 or 2019.
