WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman is only a few days away from the biggest fight of his professional career.
On Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Thurman will defend his belt against one of the sport's biggest names, eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.
Pacquiao, 40, was originally the weakest when the fight was announced, and now the boxer has become the favorite of the bets.
Thurman has beaten players like Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter and several other top contenders, but has never faced anyone even close to the level of experience of Pacquiao, who fought against Floyd Mayweather, Juan Manuel Marquez, Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton. and many other former world champions.
Thurman sees the fight with Pacquiao as the perfect opportunity to elevate his career to a new level.
Thurman broke a two-year layoff in January, when he won a twelve-round majority decision over Josesito Lopez. The unbeaten champion was seriously injured in the seventh round of the fight.
"Is that the kind of legendary wrestler where today he can beat an undefeated welterweight like me or is the unbeaten welterweight Keith" One Time "Thurman undefeated for a reason." It's really hard for someone to beat and who better to prove to me than the legendary Manny Pacquiao, "said Thurman.
"I always wanted to become a legend in sports, and I said that there are two ways to become a legend in sports: one is to defeat one legend and the other throughout your career to create your own sport. Right now I have the opportunity to create my own legacy by defeating Manny & Pacman & Pacquiao. "
