There is a Metroid Prime demake in the works, and it has a demo.

Nintendo, do something about this series besides delaying it

Metroid Prime It is a classic. I don’t think that’s a matter for debate. It simply is.

Nintendo thinks so! That’s why they released it again years later as a trilogy on the Wii after its GameCube debut in 2002. But since that 2009 Wii issue, the series has lain dormant. I mean, there is supposedly another one in the works! But that could take years at this point. Enter the fandom.

There is still a large mass demonstration around the Metroid franchise in general, as well as principal Serie. One of these groups managed to demake Metroid Prime, which is now available as a demo. That demo includes Tallon Overworld, Artifact Temple, and Chozo Ruins, but the team “needs to spend more time” working on it to expand on that setup.

The demo itself is the result of five years of work by “Team SCU”. Presumably to avoid legal trouble, the team is calling this project “Prime 2D”, although I’m not sure that’s enough if Nintendo really wants to do this.

Since I will inevitably get the “thank you Destructoid, you personally emailed Nintendo to close this!” messages, I will point out here that the creators of the project publish a public post for the demo and “Let’s Plays” is now on YouTube (like the one shown below), one of the world’s largest video platforms, for viewing. The “secret” is out!
