The video captures the teacher who seems to take drugs in the classroom

At first, Indiana senior Will Rogers was not sure what he had just filmed on video.

He recorded a video through the closed door of a teacher at Lake Central High School who appeared to be hiding in a corner of the room around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

"When I saw the images again and again, I realized that my English teacher had just used cocaine," Rogers told WGN. The video, posted on YouTube, skyrocketed throughout the campus. When the administrators discovered it, they notified the police in St. John, Indiana.

Officers arrested teacher Samantha Cox, 24, for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, according to a statement from the St. John Police Department. The drugs involved appear to be a mixture of cocaine and heroin, police chief James Kveton told The Northwest Indiana Times.

The police praised the students for bringing the incident to light, without specifically commenting on the video.

The police want to recognize and praise the student witness who brought this information to the principal very quickly, "the police statement said." His actions showed a tremendous amount of strength and integrity. "

A school district robocall informed the parents of the arrest.

"I'm grateful they found out when they did it and they were quick acting," Mother Shannon McGrath told WGN.

"You're told as a child to listen to them, respect them and things. so … But it's hard to respect someone who uses cocaine in the clbadroom, "said young Anthony Rios," he told the station. "
