TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Cam Akers and Jacques Patrick ran for two touchdowns while Florida State won its third consecutive game to secure a bowl. He bid with a 42-10 victory over ULM on Saturday.

Patrick ran for 155 yards and Akers added 117 yards while the Seminoles (6-6) accumulated 305 yards on the ground. It's the first time that FSU has a pair of 100-yard runners in the same game and helped overcome Friday's distractions when coach Jimbo Fischer escaped to Texas A & M and Odell Haggins was named interim coach.

James Blackman completed 14 of 22 pbades for 197 yards, including a 14-yard TD pbad for DJ Matthews. Blackman also had a pair of interceptions.

FSU is now eligible for bowl after winning a victory over ULM in a game that was postponed since September 9 due to Hurricane Irma. The Seminoles have extended their streak of consecutive bowl appearances to 36 seasons.

Caleb Evans completed 26 of 43 pbades, including a 6-yard touchdown pbad to RJ Turner, for ULM (4-8). Marcus Green had eight receptions for 106 yards.


ULM: The Warhawks had scored 50 or more points four times this season, but were sent off in the first half. The ULM was limited to only 155 yards in the first half and finished with 300 yards (262 pbades, 38 runs).

FSU: The Seminoles were desperate for a victory to extend the bowl streak. The Seminoles led 14-0 in half and wore ULM on the floor in the second half. FSU accumulated 504 offensive yards of high season.


Haggins played in FSU from 1986-89 and was All-American in his senior year. He has been an badistant to the FSU since 1994 and was promoted to interim coach on Friday when Fisher accepted the head coaching position at Texas A & M.

Haggins is the first FSU football coach, and wins his first career as a head coach of the university.


Louisiana Monroe ends season 4-8.

Florida State finishes the regular season 6-6. The Seminoles are waiting for a bowl announcement on Sunday.
