The chances of a war with North Korea "increase every day" as the Kim Jong Un regime continues to improve on weapons tests, national security adviser HR McMaster said on Saturday.
Speaking a few days after North Korea's most threatening missile launch to date, McMaster called the isolated nation "the biggest immediate threat to the United States" and said that even its apparent military shortcomings do not give comfort as the threat increases.
"Each time [Kim] conducts a missile launch and nuclear test, it gets better," said McMaster at the Reagan National Defense Forum in Simi Valley, California.

"And whether it's a success or a failure is not as important as understanding that over the years you've been learning from failures, improving and thus increasing its threat to all of us. "
