The new Android 5.1, 3.1, 2.1 phones from Nokia: you get bigger screens for mid-range prices

Finnish Nokia phone vendor, HMD Global, has updated three of its mid-range Android smartphones last year, the Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 2.

The new phones, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1, will be available this summer for less than € 190 or approximately $ 220.

The Nokia 5.1 has a 0.3-inch screen larger than its predecessor, which offers a 5.5-inch Full HD screen in a ratio aspect ratio of 18: 9.

The fingerprint sensor has been moved from the lower front to the rear to make room for the larger screen. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P18 eight-core 2.0 GHz processor that HMD Global says is 40 percent faster than the Nokia 5.

The Nokia 5.1 joins the other Android One range of HMD Global, including the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Nokia 7 plus and Nokia 6.1.

It is guaranteed that Android One phones will receive three years of monthly security patches and two years of operating system updates.

It also has a 16-megapixel rear camera (MP) and an 8MP front camera, and will be available with 2GB of RAM or 3GB of RAM, and 16GB or 32GB of storage. The phone will be available starting in July for € 189.

The Nokia 3 has apparently been the best-selling Android phone from HMD Global to date. The Nokia 3.1, also an Android One phone, has a 5.2-inch screen at a screen ratio of 18: 9, with a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera.

Works with an eight-core MediaTek 6750 chipset and features a gyroscope to play AR games such as Pokémon Go.

Will be available with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage or 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The Nokia 3.1 will cost around € 139, or about $ 160, and will be available as of June.

The Nokia 2.1 comes with the Go edition of Android Oreo made for devices with 1GB or less of memory. The device has a 5.5-inch high-definition screen in an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and comes with a large 4000 mAh battery.

This phone works with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, with 8 GB of storage, and comes with an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. It will be available as of July for around $ 115.

HMD Global has not mentioned in which markets the phone will be launched, but it gave the prices for the two Android One devices in euros and the Nokia 2.1 in US dollars.

The three phones will receive Android P when it launches later this year, according to HMD Global.
