The man from the viral video & # 39; Back It Up Terry! & # 39; Receive a new wheelchair

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – When people hear Terry Davis's name, this viral video comes to mind.

Fortunately, he didn't get hurt when his wheelchair malfunctioned and he couldn't escape the fireworks. But there is much more in its history.

"Oh, people don't know what I have to deal with every day," he said.

Davis suffered a spinal injury 10 years ago, and had many setbacks while trying to get a new chair. But on Monday, he turned the page to a new chapter in his story with the donation of a new wheelchair.

"I am so happy that everyone helped make this happen for me," Davis said.

After knowing that he needed a new wheelchair, Quantum Rehab and Team Adaptive approached for this to happen.

"Oh my God. It meant the world. It made my heart smile. It's nice to work for a company that is willing to give back and do something for the people who need it and deserve it," said April Allen of Quantum Rehab.

Davis now has a state-of-the-art chair designed specifically to meet the needs of his injuries. This will improve your daily life, give you more mobility and ease the burden of your caregivers.

"That will help my mother come and go. Now she won't have to come and go to get her things from Walmart. This is going to improve her life much more," said Davis's mother, Annette Carter.

The family originally created a GoFundMe account for a new wheelchair. They are using the money to buy a wheelchair accessible van for Davis and modifications to their home.
