Overwatch
League’s debut season is only a couple of months away (heck, preseason games start in December), and we’re gradually learning more about its 12 teams. Today Blizzard and Cloud9 have revealed the name and logo of the London-based team. In a tribute to the Royal Air Force’s famous World War II fighter plane, Cloud9’s team will be known as the London Spitfire. And here’s what that logo looks like:
Cloud9, of course, is one of the biggest esports concerns going today, with teams specializing in basically every major esports game. And with the popularity of Overwatch and the backing of Blizzard, Overwatch League has almost limitless potential in esports. Even London mayor Sadiq Khan recognizes the importance of esports: “London leads the world in creativity and cutting-edge technology and the city’s games and esports industry plays a major part in that success,” he’s quoted as saying in the official London Spitfire press release. “Good luck to all those representing the capital on the London Spitfire team in the Overwatch League.”

League has also released an image of Overwatch’s British hero, Tracer, in Spitfire colors, along with a short little video unveiling the official logo. You can check those out below.
