The leaked image claims to show the iPhone 13’s front glass panels with a smaller notch

A freshly leaked image is intended to offer our first real-world look at the redesigned notch that could be on the way with the iPhone 13. This comes after several reports suggested that Apple plans to reduce the size of the notch with the iPhone update from this year. .

As first reported by MacRumors, Greek technology repair company iRepair obtained what it claims are the front glass panels for the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The images clearly show the iPhone’s front glass panels in three different sizes, each of which features a smaller notch.

Also in this picture, you can see that the earpiece has moved above the notch and towards the top bezel. This design change was first rumored last year in regards to the iPhone 12 line, but it ultimately fell through. Instead, the iPhone 12 features the same notch design as the iPhone X, iPhone XS, and iPhone 11.

While this image offers a good way to visualize a smaller notch with the iPhone 13, we would treat it with some skepticism. Again, this design change has been rumored before, and this image could very well show something that was created based on leaked schematics from last year.

But with that said, the evidence is mounting that the iPhone 13 unveiled this year will feature a smaller notch. Trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported earlier this month that the iPhone 13 series will feature a smaller notch as one of the “major changes to hardware specs.”

The supply chain blog Macotakara It also reported in January that the iPhone 13 would feature a smaller notch. This report specifically mentioned that this change would be possible by repositioning the headphone cutout.
