WASHINGTON – The representative of EE. UU John Conyers will make an announcement about his political future on Tuesday morning, his lawyer said Monday afternoon.
In a tweet, Southfield lawyer Arnold Reed said he had spoken with Conyers, D-Detroit, and that "we will make an announcement" at 10:15 a.m. ET on Tuesday on Mildred Gaddis' radio show on WPZR-FM.
Reed also spoke with Detroit Free Press shortly after making the comment on Twitter and said he expected the congressman to be in the program, whether in the studio or by phone, and discuss if he's going to remain in the US House of Representatives. "The important thing is that it will be there," said Reed about Conyers, 88, who He has been hospitalized since the middle of last week with unknown symptoms that are believed to be related to stress.
Conyers, the Chamber's longest serving active member, left Washington last Tuesday amid reports that other members of the Congress Black Caucus, which he co-founded, urged him to resign to protect his legacy as A civil right icon.

In the past two weeks, Conyers has been accused of badual harbadment or other improper behavior by at least six former women members of his staff and of making a payment of more than $ 27,000 in taxes to taxpayers . Supported office funds to resolve one of those claims.
Conyers, however, has strongly denied the claims, saying he has not harbaded anyone and that paying $ 27,000 to former staff member Marion Brown, who broke a confidentiality agreement by speaking publicly last week, It was severance pay for his years of service, not as an admission that he did something wrong.
Last week, calls for Conyers' resignation grew, such as House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis. and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, a key ally of Conyers, asked her to step down as a result of the allegations. This was followed by calls for the resignation of three of the other four Democratic members of the Michigan House of Representatives: representatives Debbie Dingell of Dearborn, Dan Kildee of Flint Township and Sander Levin of Royal Oak.
At the time, Reed said it would be up to Conyers, not other politicians, if he ended a career of nearly 53 years in Congress. Conyers, a figure who marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and employed Rosa Parks, was first elected in 1964.

If Conyers resigned, it would help the Democrats demand calmly take measures against you. The House Ethics Committee has already initiated an investigation into the allegations, but such investigations often take months, if not years, to complete.
A waiver would end the investigation immediately.
It would also take Governor Rick Snyder to start a process for a special election to fill the Conyers seat, although that could also take months when the seat would be empty.
