SAGINAW TWP, MI – The only remaining Kroger store in Saginaw Township celebrated its grand reopening on Wednesday, December 6, after undergoing a $ 9.5 million expansion and refurbishment.
The now 110,000-square-foot store, located at 4672 State St. in Green Acres Plaza, opened at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. The first 400 buyers received $ 10 Kroger gift cards and free reusable shopping bags, according to a Kroger press release.
New Starbucks, largest Kroger store under construction in Saginaw Township
Changes to the store include new selections of hot and cold food in the deli, new products in the bakery, expanded meat and seafood departments, greater variety of baby items and more.
The newly remodeled store features more personal scans and check lanes and offers ClickList, Kroger's online shopping service. The Saginaw store also has a new pharmacy with counseling room, expanded liquor and wine selections, and a Western Union location.
"The expansion of the 34,000-square-foot store allows us to offer additional products and services that meet the specific needs of customers." Dave Davis, store manager at Saginaw Kroger, said in a statement. "The update is just in time for the holidays and customers will find many items on their holiday shopping lists."
Kroger in Gratiot at the close of Saginaw Township
The State Street Store is the only remaining Kroger store in Saginaw Township. The Kroger at 5025 Gratiot Road closed at the end of November.
The Kroger store in Saginaw Township is open 24 hours a day, with the pharmacy open at 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. From Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
