The history of a USB stick in Seal Poop becomes more rare

(Journalist)

"This is probably the weirdest set of coincidences of my life," says the owner of a USB stick that sits on a pile of frozen seal poop. This is how it develops: in December of 2017, sea lion volunteer Amanda Nally found a sick sea lion on a beach in the South Island of New Zealand and called a telephone line. While the animal was being examined, Nally saw the faeces of the sea lions, which were collected and sent to a laboratory, explains the guardian. When the scientists finally saw the specimen frozen, they found the USB stick inside and then placed the images on the television to find the owner. Nally saw it on the evening news and realized that the USB drive was hers. She was surprised, Newshub, but he assumed that she had dropped the stick in the sample. However, researchers at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research have a wilder theory.

Because the stick was "embedded deep in the poop", which also contained many feathers, the researchers are "convinced that a bird ate my USB device, and the leopard seal ate the bird … and then, from strange way, I come and say "Oh, there is a sample that we should send to NIWA", Nally tells the guardian, which obtained the confirmation of the theory by the researchers. The stick, hidden in the sample stored in a scientist's freezer for more than a year, contained images of "a very cool moment" in which Nally observed two sea lion puppies from his blue kayak, Newshub. But since Nally already has copies of the video, she does not want you to return the club. "No one needs to spend $ 1 on the postage," he tells the guardian. (This is what should not be done with a random USB.)
