A graphic video posted on Twitter showed a teenager violently throwing a kitten out into the street. The police are now involved.
The video first appeared on Friday and immediately gained a lot of attention online. It was retweeted more than 18 thousand times.

Fontana Police, California, was the first to learn about the animal cruelty. They said: "It has been determined that the incident took place outside our city and we are working with the appropriate jurisdiction to find the cat and the suspect." They also thanked the users of the social networks for bringing the police's attention to the incident.

Then, late on Saturday night, the Ontario Police Department issued statement saying that they had identified the responsible teenager and were initiating an investigation into the crime.
Police are still looking for the suspect in the investigation of animal abuse.

Ontario police also said that the kitten had been located, and fortunately, he survived with only one leg fracture. It has been returned to its owner.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
