The global unlocked version of Galaxy Note 8 finally gets its first update, see what’s new

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was launched more than two months ago. During that period of time, we have seen US operators. UU Deploying several software updates for the 6.3-inch phablet, but the international unlocked version of the device seemed to have been left behind in that area. Well, we are happy to say that this is no longer the case, since Samsung is expiring this drought by posting a large OTA update for the global unlocked variant.

With a build number of N950FXXU1BQK6 and a size of 840MB, the new update brings many changes. First, the Android security patch for the month of November has been included. It solves a large number of security vulnerabilities and also includes solutions for KRACK Wi-Fi and BlueBorne exploits.

The update also includes a secure Wi-Fi feature and improved performance for the Calendar, Reminder, Gallery and Voice Recorder applications. Finally, an error related to the DeX docking station has been resolved.

It seems that the update was first introduced in Taiwan, but we suspect that it should not take too long before it spreads to other markets as well. You can verify it manually by going to Configuration> Software update> Download updates manually . This is a large software update, so make sure your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before continuing.
