SAKHIR, Bahrain (AP) The Ferrari mechanic who was hospitalized with a fractured leg after being hit by Kimi Raikkonen's car says he is "OK" after the surgery.
On Instagram, Francesco Cigarini wrote "Surgery well, I have to thank all the people who are worried about me".
Cigarini included a picture of himself in a hospital bed with his thumbs raised with his left leg covered by a plaster from the thigh to the feet.
Raikkonen liked the publication.
The incident occurred during a failed tire change at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday. As Raikkonen pulled away, his left rear tire hit Cigarini's leg and knocked him to the ground.
Ferrari said that Cigarini probably suffered a "fracture of shin and fibula".
Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel won the race.
