The vice president of Epic Games has revealed his opinion on the new popular battle game of Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends, which seems to rival Fortnite throughout 2019.
Respawn launched its new project on February 4 with very little publicity prior to the launch, but since then it has increased in popularity to the point where it is already competing with Fortnite and PUBG for concurrent players.
With so much speculation about how Apex Legends could offer new competition for some of the biggest games in the industry right now, one of Epic's leading figures has shared his opinion on the matter.
Gibraltar, one of the main characters of Apex Legends.
Mark Rein, the co-founder and vice president of Epic Games, not only approves of Respawn's new real battle experience, but also seems to have been playing it.
"I tried," he said, after another user recommended the game on Twitter. "Yes, it's very good," Rein added, in a brief interaction with a fan.
Having achieved tremendous success with Fortnite, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella was clearly delighted with Rein's comments.
"It means a lot coming from you, Mark!" the tweeted. "I think I owe you some drinks the next time we meet!"
A number of Professional players have already threatened to leave Fortnite due to the decisions the developer has made, such as keeping the Hand Cannon out of the game.
In that sense, Apex Legends has the potential to compete with other popular Battle Royale games right now. It remains to be seen whether it will continue to grow or not.
