Jason Mitchell, who stars in Showtime The Chi, will not return for the third season of the drama after multiple accusations of inappropriate behavior, our sister site informs about delivery times.
Showtime confirms to Deadline that the network decided not to pick up Mitchell's contract for season 3 of the drama set in Chicago, which was announced last month. Mitchell plays Brandon, a promising chef who starts his own food truck.
Mitchell was also rejected by his agent and manager, by deadline, and lost a leading role in the Netflix movie. Desperados, which was established to star alongside Nasim Pedrad, Anna Camp and Robbie Amell. The last accusation against Mitchell occurred outside the set during the production of Desperados and it led to his dismissal. Mitchell was also involved in a previous incident while filming The Chi, which according to reports had been resolved. (Details on any of the incidents are not available at this time). Mitchell was investigated for assault after being accused of attacking a woman in a Boston hotel in 2016.
After a prominent role as rapper NWA Eazy-E in the box office success of 2015 Straight Outta Compton, Mitchell joined the cast of The Chi before his debut in January 2018.
