Paramount + will exclusively air a “CBS Sunday Morning” special, hosted by Lee Cowan, featuring an interview with filmmaker Woody Allen, the “CBS This Morning” interview with Dylan Farrow, and a report by Erin Moriarty on controversial artists and their art. on “CBS Sunday Morning” – “The Woody Allen Interview”.
The special will be available on Paramount + starting March 28.
Cowan interviewed Allen in July 2020 about his new memoir, in what is the filmmaker’s first in-depth television interview in nearly three decades. The special also includes the extensive 2018 “CBS This Morning” interview with Dylan Farrow, in which he details his allegations that Allen abused her in 1992 and denies that he was trained. And Moriarty explores the challenges audiences face when it is alleged, or discovered, that respected artists acted in a morally questionable way.
Allen has repeatedly denied the allegations that have regained attention after the recent “Allen v. Farrow” documentary series. Some experts have dismissed the accusations and he has never been charged with any crime.
The network said the interview, which took place last summer during an active news cycle, was available now given the renewed interest in this topic. In a statement, the network said: “Paramount + offers the possibility to explore Allen, his career and the allegations around him, in the context and with the depth that this story demands.”
