The Braves' choice, Sean Newcomb to Gwinnett, places Arodys Vizcaino on the disabled list

The Atlanta Braves announced several deals before the end of Sunday's series against the Mets. The team chose left-hander Sean Newcomb for Triple-A Gwinnett after Saturday's game and also placed Arodys Vizcaino on the 10-day disabled list due to an inflammation in his right shoulder. Right-handed retirees, Jacob Webb and Dan Winkler of Gwinnett, took their place on the active list.

the #Braves Today we remember RHP Jacob Webb and RHP Dan Winkler from @GoStripers and placed RHP Arodys Vizcaíno on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to April 11, with inflammation of the right shoulder. The club also chose LHP Sean Newcomb for the Stripers after last night's game.

Newcomb lasted just 1 1/3 innings at the start of Saturday, allowing five hits and four runs, along with two walks. Now he has allowed 15 hits and eight walks in just 12 1/3 innings this season. He has struggled to lose bats since spring and will now head to Triple-A to work on things. Touki Toussaint will probably take his place in the rotation.

Vizcaino has appeared in four games this season allowing three hits, three walks and one run while striking out six in four innings. He has not pitched since April 7 against the Marlins when he allowed a home run tied with Curtis Granderson in the ninth inning.

Both Winkler and Webb began the season with Gwinnett. Winkler has not allowed a career in three appearances. He appeared in 69 games outside the bullpen in 2018. This will be Webb's first appearance on the MLB list. He allowed one run and struck out five in four innings for the Stripers.
