The American brewing company is ready to make beer on Mars

Imagine what it would be like if you could enjoy a cold beer on Mars. The American brewing company Anheuser-Busch is ready to make "Budweiser" the first brand of beer on the red planet.

Budweiser maintains its commitment, announced earlier this year at an event South by Southwest [19659004] That "would create a proper beer to drink in space … and when people arrive I toasted for Budweiser .. . ", the company said in a statement this week.

"Budweiser is always pushing the limits of innovation and we are inspired by the collective American dream of reaching Mars," said Ricardo Marques, Budweiser's vice president.

"We are excited to begin our research to brew beer for the red planet," added Marques.

The company also plans to send 20 barley seeds, a central ingredient in the Budweiser recipe, to space.

Twenty Budweiser barley seeds will be shipped to the International Space Station (ISS) packed in two Space Tango CubeLabs – shoebox-sized facilities housing small-scale experiments.

Will be sent to space in the next cargo delivery mission. The SpaceX CRS-13 is scheduled to be launched December 4 from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

The seeds will be in orbit for about 30 days to see how they react in a microgravity environment, before returning to Earth for the Budweiser innovation team to badyze.

The two barley experiments will focus on the exposure of barley seeds and the germination of barley.

The research will not only provide information on the steps to create beer on the red planet, but it could also provide valuable information on the production of barley and the farming community here on earth.

These experiments at the ISS are the first of many steps that Budweiser will take to achieve its larger goal of creating a microgravity beer for Mars, the statement says.
