Speaking to CNBCAMD CEO Lisa Su explains how the chip will help propel the PlayStation 5 ahead of the competition:

"What we have done with Sony is really something special for your application, for your special sauce. It is a great honor for us. We are very excited about what the next generation of PlayStation will do. "

AMD is clearly busy, with Su reminding players that the company is also working on Google's Stage games service. He also said that AMD is working on a mysterious Microsoft project, which could be one of the four new Xbox consoles that the company has in its works. Either way, there seem to be some interesting announcements on the way for 2019.

Only recently, Cerny revealed the first details of the PS5 and confirmed that it will be compatible with previous versions. The AMD chip will have a CPU based on the third-generation Ryzen technology and will include eight cores of the Zen 2 microchip. Although Cerny's first presentations have shown what the PS5 can potentially do with a resolution of 4K, players are told that the console will be fully compatible with a resolution of 8K, directed by a customized variant or the graphics chip of the Navi family of Radeon.

Elsewhere, Cerny has promoted the use of 3D audio, which should help players get a more immersive experience that NPCs can detect steps and sounds will come from all directions. Combine this with a super-fast SSD that can load games 18 times faster than before and Su's comment that the games are "good secular"The growing market for AMD, and all this means that the PlayStation 5 will be one that you have to be careful."

There are still reports that the power of the next generation of Xbox will again eclipse Sony's offer, but Su's news should put some of those fears in the rest. Even though Xbox boss Phil Spencer has already claimed that Microsoft will set the benchmark for home games, the addition of AMD and the "special sauce"is guaranteed to give the PlayStation 5 A clear advantage over his biggest rival. Rest badured that the console war is set to continue as fans set their sights on what's coming after the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One finally retire.
